On 14 September, UNESCO will organize in partnership with the European Union, an online debate entitled “The fight against illicit trafficking in cultural property: for a strengthened global dialogue.” The event aims to bring together all actors in the fight against illicit trafficking in cultural property to discuss collaborative ways to strengthen the fight against the illegal trade in cultural property at the global level and identify concrete actions to be implemented.
ACCO co-Founder Katie A. Paul will be presenting at 9am - 11am ET on the 3rd panel, “Challenges regarding new technologies,” about her work investigating the digital network of transnational trafficking, terrorism financing, and organized crime. Registration is now closed.
She also recently presented, along with fellow ACCO co-Founder Amr Al Azm, at a closed door UNESCO event about the challenges and responses of illicit trafficking in the Arab region, which you can watch here.
